World Champions, British Champions, iconic sidecars and a feast of nostalgia meet the present day at Cadwell Park

The Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red Beef International Sidecar Revival takes place at Cadwell Park this weekend (23-24th June).

Billed as one of the largest diverse collection of sidecars in recent years, the event features a round of the Hyundai Construction Equipment Championship with no fewer than four races for points over the weekend.

Steve Kershaw and Stuart Clark arrive at Cadwell with a healthy lead in the series having dominated affairs at Snetterton on their Molson/Santander Salt Kawasaki.

They head an enthusiastic field of mixed capacity bikes, with Phil Bell and Stuart Ramsay sittings second, ahead of a pair of screaming 600's in the the hands of Todd Ellis/Charlie Richardson, and Ricky Stevens/Ryan Charlwood.

This series alone gives great entertainment, but if you then look at what else is on the menu, the Cadwell Sidecar Revival becomes a “must do” event.

Two of the greatest sidecar racers of all time will be parading their period two-stroke machines, along with a plethora of other great riders and World Champions.

Steve Webster MBE and Rolf Biland who boast seventeen titles between them, will be joined by Steve Abbott 2002 World Champion, There will be some of the rarest Grand Prix sidecars on the planet housed in a special exhibition marquee for you to lust over when they are not on track.

The famous Camathias Cup European sidecar series features all manner of machinery from the sixties, including BMW, Norton, Triumph and even a Harley Davidson. This class is a completely full grid, so the sound of these wonderful four-stroke outfits will stir even the most passive of hearts.

As well as an open F2 sidecar class by way of support races, there are races for “GP originals” which are two-stroke, primarily Yamaha machines of the type raced from the early seventies until the eighties.

These are the machines which race regularly in the Mike Hailwood Trophy race at Goodwood.

Other solo bikes will add to the flavour, as well as the opportunity to try your hand in a sidecar. Check out the timetable for the “taxi ride” slots on both days.

Title sponsor and commercial partner for the event is, as the event title suggests, is Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red Beef, which is a rare breed of cattle reared and nurtured on the South Ormsby Estate just a few minutes ride from Cadwell Park.

The estate is proud to be the custodian of over one-third of the world population of Lincoln Red cattle, which are renowned for their excellent meat quality.

You will have the opportunity to taste the beef first-hand at a special tasting booth, and to have any questions answered by the staff on-hand.

With so many championship points available, this is an important event for all the championship regulars.

A special one-hour TV show will be produced for Motorsport TV and Global distribution, as well as highlights and video clips on www.rkb-f1-sidecars.com
